Some quotes have a CDW excess i.e. an amount for which the hirer may be liable in the event of theft/damage. This is where you collect and return the keys and sign the rental contract.
Fuel PolicyIn Portugal as with Spain, some of our cheaper quotes may have a collect full/return empty fuel policy. Please check the fuel policy in the Rate Details link on the quote. Collect at Faro / Drop-Off at LisbonSome of our vehicle suppliers offer vehicle collection at Faro and drop-off at an alternative location e.g. Lisbon. PricingIn the Algarve, as with most holiday destinations, rental vehicle prices are highest in the busy summer months. Booking in advance is also advisable to get the best deals, particularly for larger vehicles such as estate cars, 7 seaters and minibuses. The prices tend to be lower if you book early, as the larger vehicles are often fully booked in the summer and in school holidays.

Algarve PricesThe Algarve generally offers excellent value for money, especially if you shop around. In the peak summer months (July to early Sept) flights and accommodation will be expensive, and many will find these months too hot, so if you can travel outside these months you will get better value for your money. Eating out is generally good value in the Algarve - expect to pay € 10 to € 15 per head for a 2 course meal with a bottle of wine included - check prices before you eat out, and expect to pay more at restaurants located in marinas and on the beach front. There are many good fish restaurants throughout the Algarve, it is worth checking TripAdvisor for reviews before you travel.
The wines of Portugal offer excellent value and quality - the Alentejo region of Portugal produces quality red wines such as Adega de Borba for around € 4, and the green wines (Vinho Verde) are a slightly sparkling white wine which is very refreshing on a hot day. You can expect to pay as little as € 5 for a reasonable quality bottle of house wine in many restaurants. If you are a smoker, cigarettes prices are relatively cheap in the Algarve (a little over € 4 per packet, some brands are nearer € 3.50).
